Decorative Garden Ball
This is probably one of the easiest projects I’ve done in awhile. Gotta love those, right?! While on a recent trip to my local craft store I was walking down the aisle and came across these flat bottom baubles in the floral section. I thought they were pretty and knew I needed to do something with them. So a Decorative Garden Ball was what I came up with and I love it! Now I’m just counting the days until Spring!!
Supplies needed to make this project:
- FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam Balls: Any Size
- Glass Gem Vase Filler – Any Color
- Low-Temp Glue Gun & Glue
Seriously, look at how pretty these baubles are!!
Instructions:
Attach gems to the foam ball using low-temp glue…it’s that easy!! I really didn’t have an order when adding them to the foam ball, I just dabbed some glue on the back and firmly placed it on the ball. Then, I just started adding more around it until it was completely covered.
My one tip…make sure you have LOTS of glue sticks on hand.
It’s a super easy project and kind of relaxing.
You can paint the ball before you start gluing the gems on, but I liked the light pastel look and thought a color underneath would be too dark.
All finished. I feel like this goes with my coastal style for the house, but I think this craft belongs in the garden. They have LOTS of colors for the gems to choose from, too!
To leave these out in the weather, would the Styrofoam first have to be coated with anything?
Hi JB! No, the foam will be fine outside without additional coating. Thanks!
