Money Topiary Gift Idea

Need a last-minute gift idea? I think the go-to for an instant gift is cash, but why make it boring when you can give it in a creative way! This Money Topiary is quick and easy to make and will take your gift to the next level.

You could wrap the pot with a big holiday bow or put the whole thing in cellophane like a gift basket…lots of options~ Either way it’s going to make a big impact…way more than a boring stack $1 bills.

Supplies needed to make this project:

FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam: Balls (in desired topiary size and one to fit in your pot)
Felt, cut into 1.5 inch squares
Straight Pins
Wood Dowel
$1 bills (or $5 or $10 bills)
Wire Pieces (I used ornament hangers)

Instructions:

First up you’ll be adding the felt for filler – this part is optional but I love the pop of color that it gives. You could also do an all-money topiary. To add the felt, pinch the center of the felt square…

then push a straight pin through the center of the felt into the foam ball.

Repeat until desired amount is added. Spaces are okay because the money will cover them. (these topiaries are really pretty with just felt too!)

Next, add the money! Fold the bill in half, then pinch the middle and wrap with wire. Push the ends of the wire into the foam ball. Repeat with the rest of bills.
