DIY Decorative Ball Vase Filler
Creating affordable home décor has never been so easy. Today I am sharing how to create these beautiful, DIY Decorative Balls with supplies you may have already in your homes. Using various textures and colors creates a rich and beautiful custom display.
Supplies needed for this project:
- FloraCraft® Make It:Fun® Foam: Balls in assorted sizes
- Spanish Moss
- Rope
- (2 spools) 1/4″ Lace Ribbon
- Jute Twine
- FloraCraft® Make It:Fun® StyroGlue
- Scissors
- Low-Temp Glue Gun & Glue
Instructions:
For the lace, jute, and rope balls, each ball is created in the same way so first you’ll decide which size and material (i.e. jute) you want to use. You’ll start with one end of your material and glue it to the foam ball.
You’ll continue to wrap the jute around the ball while occasionally applying dabs of glue to hold it in place. Continue wrapping until you’ve covered the entire ball.
Then finish off with the glue where you stop. This is the same process for the rope and lace.
For the moss balls you’ll use your StyroGlue and coat one half of the ball completely.
Grab a bit of moss and place it over the glue and hold in place. Shake off excess moss and fill any gaps with more glue and moss. Repeat with the other half of the ball until you get it filled in completely. Set aside to dry.
Place your balls into a vase or container to display and that’s it!
These DIY Decorative Balls are so easy to make and can be customized to fit any decor style depending on the material you use. Using yarn and ribbon would also great options.
