Torn Fabric Patriotic Wreath
This wreath was so fun (and therapeutic) to make and is the perfect wreath to hang on your door all summer long! It’s a little time-consuming but the end result is so gorgeous…its a great rainy spring day project.
Supplies needed to make this project:
- FloraCraft® Make It: Fun®Wreath Form in desired size
- (1 yd of each color) Broadcloth: Red, White, Blue
- Straight Pins
- Gold Ribbon
- Gold Die-Cut Word (optional)
Instructions:
I like the look of frayed edges, so I tore my fabric but you could cut the fabric if you wish. I tore the fabric into 3-4 inch wide strips, then cut those strips down into 3-4 inch wide squares. They don’t have to be exact.
Once you have your pile of fabric squares, you are going to simply attach them to the wreath using straight pins. Hold the square of fabric in the middle, and gather it up. You could also fold the square in half and then in half again. Push the pin through the middle, as shown below, and then secure it onto the wreath.
You can do random fabric all over or a pattern, such as the stripes I did. I started with all the white stripes, then moved on to add in the other colors, making sure everything was evenly spaced.
Once your wreath is completely covered, add a piece of ribbon around the top to hang! I also added a die cut liberty ornament to mine as well but that is completely optional.
