Mother’s Day Brunch Floral Centerpiece

Looking for a cute way to pretty up your table this Mother’s Day? Add some beauty and style to your brunch display with this elegant floral Mother’s Day centerpiece. Not only is this arrangement beautiful for Mother’s Day, but it would also look lovely for any special occasion, wedding or even birthday party.  And, it doubles as the perfect gift at the end of your event.  With only a few supplies, you’ll transform a simple foam cake form into a beautiful faux cement planter floral arrangement.

Supplies needed to make this project:

  • FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam: 10″ Cake Form
  • FloraCraft Smooth Finish® Paintable Coating
  • Fine-grit Sandpaper
  • Grey Chalky Finish Paint
  • Foam Brushes
  • Variety of Faux Flowers
  • Faux Greenery
  • Scissors/Wire Cutters

Instructions:

You’ll start by applying Smooth Finish to the Cake Form to create your planter. Smooth finish fills all the foam cells and give you…well…a smooth finish!  Perfect for painting!

When the smooth finish is completely dry, lightly sand any uneven areas.  Then, gently apply a layer of grey chalk paint to the cake form.  I love the way it looks like concrete…so trendy!

When the cake form is dry, trim down the faux floral stems and start arranging by poking them through the top of the foam.   Start with your largest flowers and fill in with the smaller flowers and leaves.  I also wound greenery over the top of the cake form to fill it in, but you could use moss as well.  You can secure it with floral pins.

That’s it! Now you’ve got a gorgeous addition to your Mother’s Day Table.  I incorporated some of the extra small flowers into the napkin rings for a coordinated display.

Don’t forget, Mother’s Day is May 14th!  This project is quick and easy to whip up so there is still time to make Mom’s day with a handmade beautiful arrangement.
