Modern Geometric Holiday Trees

Minimalistic geometric holiday decorations are very popular this season. The sleek simple look is one of my favorite trends. Today I am showing you how to create these easy, sharp lined, modern trees to decorate your home this season! It’s easy to shape FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® cones into straight triangle shapes using a sharp knife and FloraCraft Smooth Finish® paintable coating.

Supplies needed to make this project:

• FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam: Cones – 9″, (2) 12″, 6″
• FloraCraft Smooth Finish®
• Serrated Knife
• Fine Grit Sand Paper
• Acrylic Paint: Lime Green, Shamrock Green, Citrus Green, Metallic Gold
• Gold Glitter

Instructions:

Using a serrated knife, start by cutting straight down from the tip of the cone to make flat edges on 4 sides.

Sand the edges smooth with fine grit sand paper.  Apply Smooth Finish with a spatula on all four sides and let it dry.

Smooth the coating with fine grit sand paper. Paint each tree with a different shade of acrylic paint. Tape 1/3 of the tree with painters tape and paint the tip with gold acrylic paint and sprinkle with glitter while the paint is still wet.

Remove the tape and let the glitter and paint dry.
