Donut Mug Bouquet

This is such a fun way to give a yummy gift!  Whether it be a birthday, new baby, or just because, this Donut Mug Bouquet is perfection.  And, it’s perfect for Mother’s Day (which is Sunday…just in case you were wondering!).

Supplies needed to make this project:

  • FloraCraft Make It: Fun® Foam: Ball (in desired size)
  • Toothpicks
  • Mug
  • (2 Dozen) Mini Donuts
  • White Chocolate Melts
  • Sprinkles

Instructions:

First you’re going to need to fit your foam to your mug.  I wanted mine to have a large overflowing top, so I used a Foam Ball that was slightly larger than the mug and then sized down the bottom half to fit, as shown below.  I simply used a serrated knife to cut it to fit.  At this point, you can wrap your foam with tin foil if you don’t want your donuts to touch the foam (hindsight is always 2020).

My donuts came plain, so to dress them up, I simply melted some white chocolate (follow the package directions), drizzled it over the donuts and then added some bright colored sprinkles on top before the chocolate cooled.

To attach the mini donuts, insert a toothpick into the foam ball, leaving half of it still exposed.  Push donuts onto the toothpicks.  I started by pushing the donut onto the toothpick first, but it didn’t work well.  Pushing the toothpick into the foam first is definitely the way to go!

I added dimension to the bouquet by adding “layers” of donuts.  This also helped fill in the space that didn’t quite fit another donut.  Keep adding donuts until your bouquet is completely covered!

That’s all there is to it!

You can quickly create this fun gift at the last minute (story of my life!) and no one will know!
