DIY Jumbo Dice

With Jumbo Dice, the fun is endless!  Learning games, board games, yard games, group activities – they can be used in so many situations!  Making them out of foam keeps the dice lightweight while still being large and awesome.  And it’s the perfect project to bust the spring break boredom (is there such a thing?)!

Supplies needed to make this project:

  • FloraCraft Make It: Fun® Foam Cube ( 4 inches)
  • FloraCraft® Smooth Finish® Paintable Coating
  • Black Gloss Acrylic Paint
  • Low-Temp Glue Gun & Glue
  • White Cardstock
  • Large circle punch (1 inch or 1-1/4 inch)

Instructions:

As you know, I have an unending love for Smooth Finish – I use it on almost every foam project I tackle.  You can spread it with a spatula, but as a true crafter, I like to use my fingers and really work it into the foam.  Cover all sides.  Let dry completely.

When dry, you will be able to paint your dice – I used a gloss black paint.  Let dry completely.

To make the dots, use a circle punch to punch dots out of white cardstock.  My punch was 1-1/4 inches in circle size.

Using low-temp glue, attach dots to foam cube.  The opposite sides of a die add up to 7, so for example, the “5” side should be on the direct opposite side as the “2” side.  (You can use that little tip next time you’re on Jeopardy, lol!)

That’s it!!  Let the fun begin!!

What game would you play with a set of JUMBO dice?
