Baker’s Twine Heart Wreath

I have been having so much fun decorating for Valentine’s Day this year!  I normally don’t do a lot of Vday decorating but for some reason I am enjoying it this year.  Maybe it is because I am slowing down a little more this year having a new little one in the house, or maybe I just was missing all of my Christmas decorations.  Either way, I am loving it!   I have a few foam hearts and several ideas in mind for how to use them, but I decided that a baker’s twine wrapped heart was the perfect way to add a touch of color in a beautiful yet simple way!  So I gathered a few supplies and got to work making this cute baker’s twine heart decoration.

Supplies needed to make this project:

• FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam: 8″ Extruded Heart
• Baker’s Twine (I used pink and white)
• Low-Temp Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
• Ribbon (I used black and white)
• Decorative Frame (optional)

This really isn’t a difficult craft to do but it will take a little bit of time.  Because baker’s twine isn’t very thick, it takes a while to wrap it all the way around the heart, but the end result is worth it!  So it is the perfect project to do while watching a TV show or chatting with friends or family.

Instructions:

You will simply secure the end of the baker’s twine to the foam heart with a touch of glue then begin wrapping the twine around the heart.  You will want the twine to be close together and it may need to overlap a bit around the curved parts of the heart.  Add touches of glue here and there to secure it into place.

Once the entire heart is covered in baker’s twine, you can attach a ribbon and hang it up!

I placed my finished heart in the center of a wooden frame that I found at the craft store to display it in my home!

It is so super cute and I just love how perfect it is for Valentine’s Day!
